Social benefit funds directly benefit the health, education, and well-being of participants at Carlisle Academy in Maine impacting 250 lives through equine-assisted services, community riding, para-equestrian sports, and nature-based initiatives offered at no or low cost.
Funding supports a wide range of farm, nature, and equine-based programs serving our diverse communtiy across the lifespan.
In 2026, the Carlisle Foundation sponsored:
- A total of 20 free 2-hour sessions of Equine- Assisted Learning to the Dempsey Center, Crossroads for Women, Caring Unlimited, and Maine Vet Center to promote self-exploration, mindfulness, and resiliency for women in recovery, veterans, survivors of domestic abuse, and persons with cancer.
- A total of 9 free 2-hour sessions of FarmWELL sessions to MaineHealth and Maine Veteran Home of Scarborough residents to promote wellness and meaningful outdoor engagement in older adults and adults with disabilities. 2 free 2-hour immersive fieldtrips were granted to Biddeford High School and Cultivating Community students to promote leadership and career development.
- A total of 5 free and 20 subsidized 1.5-hour sessions of group riding lessons to Kennebunk Parks an Recreation and Cultivating Community to promote equity and inclusion in the riding community.
- A total of 10 free 2-hour sessions of Nature Explorers to Apex Youth Connection and Lyman Parks and Recreations to promote nature connection and curiosity in youth.
